Metashop was built and patented by CEO Joseph Wilson and software engineer/CTO Bonnie Kim, with teams in Toronto and New York City.

Metashop Technology

Metashop is a technology that automatically extracts information from the objects and people in the scene, upon the scene being photographed.

When the image or film is viewed, shared, posted or published, the metadata can instantly be retrieved by the viewer, and the object can be identified and purchased straight from the image.

Metashop Analytics

After posting a photo of herself, Metashop's analytics page allows Coco Rocha to see how many viewers looked up and/or purchased each individual object of hers, and how much she earned from the image.

This is game changing for influencers, who now have the tools and currency to become the new retailers, without requiring a store, inventory, staff, real estate, nor even an accountant. Only Metashop.

Metashop's “network effect” the revenue model

The ability to trade seamlessly via images from a smartphone has only been limited by advances in technology, and is now possible via Metashop:

Upon Drake posting a photo of himself on Instagram, his 100 million followers can look up and buy any item straight from the photo (clothes, watch, accessories, cosmetics, car, real estate...). Upon 1 out of every 1000 followers purchasing a $75 item (average sale) from the metashop image, that one photo, generates $7.5M in sales. The influencer becomes the new retailer and receives a significant portion of the sales.
